Houston

Nestled in the beautiful Bulkley Valley amongst some of BC’s finest outdoor recreational opportunities is the town of Houston.  Strategically located between hub cities of Prince George and Terrace, Houston is home to the outdoor enthusiast.  With a population of 3600 people, there is always room on the riverbank, lake or the many walking and hiking trails in the area.
The History of Houston stretches back to the turn of the Century with the expansion of the railroad through to the West Coast.  Originally a farming community with the rich soils often found in valley bottoms, Houston has grown to become an industrial centre that exemplifies cohabitation with the farming community.
Although Houston is home to the worlds largest sawmill, it remains a quiet and peaceful region where the pace is slower, the people are friendly and the visitors are made to feel welcome.

Granisle

Originating in 1965 and incorporated as a village in 1971, mining activities in the Granisle area continued until 1992. Tourism is now one of the leading industries in Granisle. Granisle is the only full-service town on Babine Lake and one of only a few lakeside towns in northern BC.

The Granisle area is home to approximately 600 residents. A healthy and safe environment, small town values, affordable housing, all co-existing in the great outdoors - make Granisle one of the best places in the world to live or to visit
